Rasheeda “Certified Hot Chick” Interview

I got started in a 3 girl rap group called DaKaperz we were some lil girls who loved music and it started as a hobbie and quickly turned into something we started taking seriously it was a great situation.

Gritsandegg.com: How did you get started in this business?

I got started in a 3 girl rap group called DaKaperz we were some lil girls who loved music and it started as a hobbie and quickly turned into something we started taking seriously it was a great situation.

Gritsandegg.com: How has your job affected your lifestyle?

HUH!!! Lets just say I’m blessed. I’m a very appreciative person in this business you can easily get caught up but if your smart , make the right decisions and do you, your good.

Gritsandegg.com: What is your job like on a typical day?

Tues- Thurs, is office days, I get up work out, Go into the office get wit my team and go over schedules, emails, interviews, shows & travel, photo shoots and etc then I usually go to the studio for a few hours or sometimes I get free time and I go chill.

Fri-Mon, I’m usually on the road

Gritsandegg.com: Please tell me a bit about your experience in the music industry?

I’m still experiencing this industry everyday its forever changing (and nothing ceases to amaze me), Any business this lucrative has a lot of pro’s and cons. I learned early knowledge is key in this industry its really only like 20% music and the other 80% is business. Its has highs and lows, it can be cruel and fake as hell. On the other hand it can show you things you never seen and take you places u never imagined. You can make lots of money and you can turn around and have nothing.

Gritsandegg.com: If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who inspired you who would it be, and what would say to them?

Michael Jackson, I would ask him to tell me where he was mentally when he started the Thriller album and what was his ultimate goal as a icon, what makes him happy and who & what inspires him. I just want to know who he really was.

Gritsandegg.com: What inspired the name of the new album?

It signifies me, my female fans and most young ladies I know….LOL!!!! That’s what we are a “Certified Hot Chick”

Gritsandegg.com: Do you have any major upcoming events?

Well of course my daily life is a major event.LMAO… Several shows, The new album “Certified Hot Chick” drops August 18th prior to its release I have 2 new mixtapes dropping and Kandi (formally of Xscape) and I have a project dropping soon titles PeachCandy.

Gritsandegg.com: How do you feel you have grown since your first Album?

Tremendously in every possible way as a women, writer, performer & a business women.

Gritsandegg.com: We know that for now music is your main career choice. Do you plan to pursue any other fields?

Acting, I have a few things I’m looking at and I’m in talks on starting a satellite radio show

Gritsandegg.com: Did you all think that you would ever be this big?

I’m still growing I haven’t reached my goals yet so I’m still striving for more I’m a underground, independent artist who has a lot of work ahead of her.

Gritsandegg.com: What other singers/rappers inspired or influenced your style?

I get influence from people who I think are great artist its not that they inspire my style as much as they inspire me to strive to be better and reach further I always wanted to have my own sound and not be a mock of my influences because we don’t need another one of them we need something new. My influences are Biggie, Pac, Janet, Madonna, Jay-z Salt n- Peppa, Lyte, Kanye West, Ne-yo, Alicia Keys, Will I Am, Andre 3000, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Oprah, Russell Simmons and more.

Gritsandegg.com: Everyone knows that you are regular people outside of the industry what are things you like to do in your spare time.

Cook, watch movies, go shopping, spend time wit my family

Gritsandegg.com: How did your parent initially feel about your career choice?

They have been supportive from day one

Gritsandegg.com: Is there anything about your career that you would change if you could?

Yes, become a male rapper I’d been blew up LOL!!!. They treat women so much different it ridiculous….
