Who gave you the name Amazin Amie?

I was doing some promotional modeling for Ralph Reynolds, now he’s doing his thing with Akoo but at the time it was Azzure denim. Well anyway, when I would go to the office the designers would call me Amazin and Ralph suggested if I ever go into modelin heavy I should run with Amazin Amie. So that’s what I did. And it caught on pretty quick.

How did you get into modeling?

A few years back a friend of mine was at a photo shoot and she had left a pair of shoes at the house. So she called and asked me to bring them. When I got get there the photographer Lee McDowell ask me to do a test shoot. After I posted my pictures on modelmayhem.com that’s when I met Patrick Adams from 2Starz Studios. He is single handily responsible for getting me in every magazine that is currently published. From there it was on.

What was your favorite assignment so far?

I have enjoyed every shoot up to date. I feel blessed for every opportunity that has been presented to me so I go into every assignment with excitement and a positive attitude. But if I have to pick out one it would be the white issue of SHOW magazine. It has been my only stand alone cover and I felt very accomplished.
Has your ethnic background ever caused you to not be casted for certain roles?

Up to date not that I know of. I haven’t really went to any casting for anything. I do want to venture off into mainstream and tv. I do know I will have some obstacles ahead but if something is ment to be, it will be.

Explain why you have become known as “The Best of Both Worlds”.

I feel that it is because I can cross over into both markets. I try to be as diverse as possible and not limit my opportunities. I have done photo shoots that were outside of the norm like… I did a Marilyn Monroe tribute with Dexter Cohen and a Biker babe look with Charles Gardner. Black wig and all. Its not something you would really see in the urban market. But its fun to me and I like it.
Do you have any kind of workout routine that you stick too.

I try to do 5 days a week. Consisting of 30 mins cardio, free weights, squats and lunges.

Beyonce and Keri Hilson start fighting who are you cheering for?

Damn, now that’s a hard one! Ima have to go with a Beyonce because she is an all time favorite but Keri Hilson has recently grabbed my attention so she is right behind her.

24 hours to live, Whose music would you be listening too?

Ima go with Beyonce again. Sorry Keri I still love ya girl.

What’s next for you?

I will be in the next Blackmen SSX issue as well as Urban Ink. And I just shot for the Rick Ross – “Yacht Club” (Remix) (feat. Triple C’s & Magazeen) video. Look out for that on tv soon.
